Covid Policy and Protocols
When you enter the Elora Centre for the Arts:

No one including parents or dancers, will be permitted to wait inside the building this year. You may wait outdoors or in your vehicle until 5 minutes before your class starts. (Creative Ballet 10 week program exempt)

Once the colder weather arrives, students may come into the building until they are called upstairs. Please have them sanitize their hands and wait on one of the benches, out of the way and 2 metres apart from other students.

Parents, please wait outside of the Centre. If you need to speak a staff member, please schedule a call or book a meeting.

Everyone must wear a mask when entering the building, when indoors and in common spaces, halls, washrooms. Once in class, students may take off their masks when dancing. Students will be safely 2 meters apart in class and we will continue to follow all up to date safety protocols.

Dancers will use the back stairs located by the boy’s washroom. Karate students will use the front stairs.

*** Please note that we will leave the decision to wear a mask during class up to the parents’ and students’ discretion and comfort level.***
Before your class:
-
We kindly ask that parents please ensure that they are monitoring symptoms and conducting a temperature check for each child before each class. The Health department states that a healthy temperature must be 37 degrees Celsius or below. A fever is considered anything above 38 degrees Celsius.

Please ensure your dancers arrive dressed in their dance outfits, as change rooms are not available and washrooms will have a limit of 2 people at a time.

Please sanitize your hands at the entrance, and feet if participating in a class where shoes cannot be worn.

Once in the classroom, you be assigned a designated space, students will move around the space according to distancing rules. Some activities may require masks.

Please send your dancer with their own water bottle to be kept with them during class. This will limit the need to move around the classroom and or leave to get water in the restrooms.

At the end of class, disinfect any equipment that you used.

Sanitize your hands before entering the classroom and before you leave, and exit the building immediately
General protocols:

There will be a Maximum 10-12 students permitted per class. This is 25% of our fire capacity and the number of bodies permitted at this time while allowing for the required distancing practices.

Maximum 10 – 12 people in the studio at any time (while exercising).

All hands and (feet for certain classes), must be sanitized upon entry and exit.

Attendance must be confirmed before we begin back to classes on September 13, 2021.

Students will be expected to help sanitize the equipment after use.

Please do not send your student to class if they or other family members are ill. If your student • arrives sick, they will not be permitted to participate in class and we will be sent home.
Do Not Attend Class:
If your student or any member of your family, is experiencing any of the following symptoms:

new or worsening cough
-
shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
-
temperature equal to or over 38°C
-
feeling feverish
-
chills
-
fatigue or weakness
-
muscle or body aches
-
new loss of smell or taste
-
headache
-
gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting)

feeling very unwell
Other information

Attendance is critically important, especially in small classes. For intermediate students and above:

If you miss more than 30% of your classes over two or more months, please note that we reserve the right to give your spot to someone else.

Masks must be worn indoors (all common areas, washrooms etc.) We have modified the way we do cardio training to accommodate mask wearing, if necessary.

By participating in programs at Fergus Elora Academy of Dance, I confirm and ensure that my Dancer(s) will follow and adhere to the Covid Policy herein described.
